[ Opening the door and going in initiates a discrete set of shards, familiarity. Bonsoir, bottle of milk, allez-y, snack, c'est gentil, correct change, bon-soir and while I open the door once again au-revoir. Onto wet pavement, feet hurt slightly, walked too fast and as I'm about to round a corner, almost there, this old lady almost, but not quite, manages to avoid me. But what's that, she grabbed hold of my sleeve! She's mumbling something unintelligible, l'eau something, what's the matter, I reel back. Still she clings, trying to bring me down? Now suddenly clamour, bells, a concrete minaret drenched in grey, giant cross coming down. I try to avoid it, but the old lady won't let me. Mad dream of giant pigeons blurrig my view, trying to reach for a receding laughing face. Cling. Hold on, what's this. I'm back? Was I away? I round the corner and stagger. ]
